Dominique Hui’s first solo show Quiet North presents a series of playful and graphical portraits and urban landscapes painted on wood panels and paper. Quiet North reveals a void space and presence of human figures in conventional landscape paintings.

In these paintings, the subjects are silent and static reflections, frozen in a timeless zone. Hui's works invite a critical conversation that examines dynamic cultural entanglement and questions the contradiction of the uneven relationships between invisible subjects in the context of a Canadian history.
